Wild Port Renfrew and Botanical Beach
Often called the other West Coast or the Mini Tofino, the road from Sooke to Port Renfrew is one of wilderness, waves and vast beaches. This is a great day trip from Victoria. It will take you about 3 hours to drive to Port Renfrew. Allow the whole day in order to stop along the way. Make time to explore China Beach, French Beach or Sandcut. They are all amazing!
Take Your Time Enjoy and ExploreThe hike to Botanical Beach is a pleasant nature trail looping through the rainforest. The hike is moderate and well worth the effort. The trail is beautiful and goes through the rainforest, old growths, with interesting stumps and roots. The beaches are vast and amazing. Look at the Tides Chart before leaving because the beaches are better explored at low tide. The tidal pools are amazing and full of life.A trip to Port Renfrew is not complete without a stop at Shirley Delicious or Point No Point.
